Her self-pitying, hypocritical bastard of a father is hardly a beacon of light in the darkness. If you put yourself in a compromising position who's fault is it when you get compromised? He's just pathetic.

I read a few of the comments and was surprised at the number of people encouraging them and particularly the daughter to get professional help. Do they mean a psychiatrist, a lawyer, or Jerry Springer ?

Surely a good stand up fighting, cussing and biting, slanging natch over the breakfast table would sort it all out.

AMEN! If you're married, keep it in your pants except at home and you won't find your ass in this sling. If you just gotta have "the other woman", leave the wife first.

But, there is only enough blood in the human male body to supply one head at the time, and much too often the small one wins the tug of war.

Agreed 100%. But how can sending the info to the children of the cheating wife AND other friends be seen as justified? Those kids now have a whole lot more to deal with then just knowing Mom was unfaithful. Yes, the spouses of the cheating scum should have been told, but that's it.

I see this a gigantic collection of losers.

EDIT: Really, my brain can spell, the problem is the tranmission of the vital information to my fingers.

Fifteen year olds, as I think we know, live and act in the moment and give little thought to having to justify their actions. The daughter, as one of the wronged parties, has at least some defence for her act of vengeance, even if she failed to take into account the collateral damage she'd cause. Dad, caught big time with his pants down, is left struggling to salvage some dignity by playing share the blame with the daughter. He's definitely an asshole of the highest order and should shut up and take his lumps.

And I'm with you on the EDIT remark. My spelling is impeccable but my typnig scuks.

Not necessarily, there are shots for that.

Caliber? I'm thinking a magnum of some kind. Perhaps some good Sauvignon Blanc? Afterall, it goes well with poultry, and this guy is deninitely chicken.

(Beat that, Scotsman!)

Stuffed, trussed, roasted and served up with all the trimmings courtesy of an aggrieved teenager and an internet connection.

You should never put up online what you can't defend.

No wait. We'd have to close down the forum.

I'm guessing that whomever you're closer in age to, you're more likely to find fault with here. Most of us middle-aged types are going to think this dad is a big creep and the teenager can't really be held accountable for the purely adjunctive role she played in the unfolding of this disaster. She's a victim. Punishing her would be simply savage.
She's crafty, all right, but I wonder where she learned that?

That's a pretty reasonable point about being more critical of the person closer to my age. Makes sense. But although I guess I don't condone "cheating" as a really great idea for a marriage, I don't think it's necessarily as awful of a thing to do as we (our society, I guess) tends to make it out to be. Adultery is addressed by the TEN COMMANDMENTS, for God's sake! I think if we all chilled out about it we'd be a lot happier and could address cheating, when it happened, in a healthier way instead of putting it on the same list as "Thou shalt not kill."

That being said, this particular dad is also clearly being a douche; but his tragic flaw is his epic douchery, not the fact that he cheated alone. (all my opinion, of course)

I quite agree it is nothing like equivalent to "Thou shalt not kill." Things change a bit, though, when there are kids involved.

What a mess. Fuck around and eventually in families with children, the kids get fucked too. People are never going to stop having sex, regardless of any agreement they previously made. In William Bradford's History of Plymouth Plantation, he lamented of the many sins committed in 'The City upon the Hill', which he believed the Plantation to be. Think of all the crap these people went through, persecutions under Stuart kings, wage slavery in Leiden, the Crossing, the first few winters of dying, and Bradford can't understand why they still sin. Didn't they go to this "desert" to set up a perfect City in harmony with God? And dollars to doughnuts you have some adultery among those many 'sins'. It's going to happen and people are going to get hurt.

Who knows what that girl has gone through. I find little fault with her and tend to agree with rob. It is true that one of a teenagers functions is to manipulate, but as well self control can be lacking. Educate and advise her of the consequences of her actions on this one. She is probably one super pissed off young women. I hope she has some real positive male role models in her life. Otherwise there might be a whole lotta self destruction going on and soon (if not already begun).

Yeah, her level of manipulation was pretty extreme. I think we don't have to look very far to see where she learned it, though.

When I was fifteen, I saw things in pretty black and white, too, so I don't blame the daughter. It takes a lot of experience and maturity to realize that people have different needs and sometimes there's necessary secrets that are better than the alternative.

Still though...Log out of your crap when you use a public computer!!
